At 19 months old, potty humor sure seems to get the giggles going around our house. For the past two months or so, Grace has been interested in tagging along on potty breaks. She giggles and says "big gurl pee-pee" when we walk in and then proceeds to unroll the t.p. and run as fast as she can! The other day I was getting ready to give her a bath so we walked into the bathroom and I pointed to the potty and said "big girls go pee pee in the potty" to which she quickly abandoned what she was doing, stood right next to the potty and proceeded to go pee pee...all over the floor.
Even though it was a mess to clean up I couldn't help but cheer her on as she finally got it! And just for you mom, I did the silly "Pee Pee in the Potty!" song you used to teach parents when talking about toilet training toddlers (say that 3 times fast!) complete with arm motions and dancing in a circle...how life changes once you have kids!!!
So I guess we'll be making a trip to Target this weekend to get the little pumpkin her very own potty chair, even if just for fun since I always figured she would be closer to two before we ventured into potty training...who knows! For all you veteran potty-training moms out there, any tips you care to share? Thanks!
I highly recommend the DVD called "Potty Power" too. You can find it on Amazon. That made all the difference for Emily. Yea for Big Girl Grace!
