a little ray of sunshine

Oh my, it's been a rough day or week or couple of weeks...however you want to look at it. I'm not much for complaining, especially when there are lots more serious problems and hurts all around me, but geez, lately the title "a series of unfortunate events" perfectly describes how things have been going.

Let's see. Let me get the 'unfortunate' over with quickly so I can concentrate on the little ray of sunshine that just made my day :)

1. Fender bender at the post office a couple of weeks ago on the day I went to mail THIS sweet dollie. Luckily, not my fault.
2. After having trouble with our A/C for most of the summer...(did I mention it's been 100°-110° here most days??? Oh, I have?)...we have come to the conclusion we have to replace the whole thing. Yes, the unit, the furnace, the wiring, the duct work...costs a pretty penny too. Thankfully the big overhaul is scheduled for tomorrow.
3. Huge tire blow out today on my way to a board meeting 3 hours away. Picture a military "buzz cut" and you now know what my tire looked like. Yes, the entire tread ripped off the tire just like you see happen to 18wheelers all the time.

God was indeed watching over me. Luckily I did not loose control of the car and even more luckily, it happened about 1/2 mile from an exit...an exit with the only gas station around for miles...and with the kindest older gentleman who "works on tires" and just so happened to be outside drinking his coffee while scratching off a lottery ticket. You may never read this, but THANK YOU! You were the hands of God to me today.

So...if bad things come in 3's, then can we just say I fulfilled my quota for a little while??

Okay, onto the ray of sunshine that just made my day! A sweet package from my friend Amber arrived in the mail today. And inside...Eeeeek! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! And to think this was the one she did not like how it turned out. What????? I'm so glad I asked her to add the words "charm school" and send it to me anyway. I happen to think that little schoolgirl is just about the cutest thing ever!

Hard to see from my not-so-great photog skills, but the little girl's notebook even has a "Gg" for Grace :) And...

That was not all! There was even MORE cuteness in that fun box...but you'll have to wait a couple of days for that one ;) I'll give you a hint: Has something to do with those sweet fabrics in the background. he he he

And if bad things come in 3's, then good things sure do too!

This little gem was tucked in there as well: LOVE IT! You can bet I'll be sporting that little pretty all the way to the tire counter tomorrow ;)

THANK YOU AMBER for the goodies!

Your special delivery made my day!!!

I am so glad you are safe and didn't have a worse experience with that tire incident. And the AC thing, boy it's not fun shellin out the moolah, but it sure does pay off to be cool. Love the little tee, so cute. Cant wait to see what you do with the fabric. Have a great day!!!

Oh no Jessica - I am so sorry about all of your bad luck! You are definitely in for some good luck. I feel badly that my dolly made you get in a fender bender - if it's any consolation, I LOVE her and so does Emily! Thanks again!!!

Amber's little tshirt is too darn cute! She did a great job. Looking forward to seeing the other goodie in there =)

Stay safe! (((HUGS)))

So glad you were not hurt when the tire blew! Good luck with the new A/C unit, and enjoy the cool!!!!!
The little stitched tee is adorable! Does she use fusible web on the back when she does stitchery on clothing?

Thank you ladies! Yes, we are feeling much better! Amazing what a little cool air will do for everyone's mood & attitude!! HA!

Hi, Kris~ There is no fusible interfacing on the back. I think that's mainly for machine stitching/embroidery???? Not sure. Amber hand embroidered the design on the shirt using a vintage pattern. So sweet!

Thanks again, Amber!!! By the way Amber, when Grace saw the shirt she said, "Oh, that's a girl going to school just like me. I'm ready for school" he he he
