My list of projects just keeps growing and growing and growing...
Last Thursday, I had a chance to visit a little out of the way quilt shop and walked away with two new fabrics I can't wait to tackle!
Hear that, Noonie? *wink*
I'm in love with this fun modern cowboy fabric and can't wait to turn it into a jon jon for Hudson. Aren't the colors great??? Love 'em! I love smocked clothing for little ones, but lately I've been craving the combination of modern fabrics with classic designs, hence all these jon jons in fun prints.
Now, my love for all things "pumpkin" is all too clear, so it should be no surprise that my heart nearly skipped a beat when I spotted this fabric tucked in a corner from across the store. And then that polka dotted ric rac!!! Swoon! Did you see the little mice sticking out from behind the pumpkins??? Grace LOVES little critters so this fabric is perfect for her! Now, what to make with it??? Any suggestions?
And while I'm dreamin' up fall stuff, a few little switcheroos. Last week Michelle, one of my very creative friends, came by and played decorator with me. Isn't it fun to have a fresh set of eyes use stuff you already own in the most creative of ways??? Love it! Here's one of my new frames ready for Fall: And thanks to Michelle, I now have my most favorite vase out in plain sight to enjoy...and safely placed high enough to prevent curious little monkeys from tinkering with it :) Can you sense I'm ready for some cooler weather??? :)
Love the fabric!!! But the ric-rac is adorable!!! Where to find me some :) What about some cute ruffle pants out of the pumpkin fabric paired with a pimpkin applique tee??? Or amybe a simple dress like a pillowcase dress...I have so many more ideas but I will not bore you :)
ReplyDeleteLove the ric-rac! You always find cute ric-rac - I never find that kind!
ReplyDeleteI think a little peasant top would be adorable with that fabric, with the ric-rac trim along the bottom. I don't think Grace ever wears jeans (does she?) but when Emmy was that little she had the cutest Halloween peasant top with matching jeans that had big ric-rac trim along the bottom. It was one of my favorite pumpkin patch outfits on her!
Love that fabric for Hudson, too. I wish I knew how to make jon-jons for Carter =(
PS - Your orange pictures are making me crave fall! It's my favorite time of year - I can't wait!!! Just wish school didn't start next week - I'm going to really miss my girls.
ReplyDeleteLove heather's idea for a peasant top! It would be so cute with an apron with a cute pumpkin applique and the ric-rac at the bottom of the apron....hmmmm maybe the fall fabric of my will turn into a peasant top or dress :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions ladies!! Can't wait to see what that sweet fabric turns into!
ReplyDeleteHeather~ It's SO.VERY.HOT here, Grace only wear jeans in the winter. Even for back to school jeans are too hot. Although...I do plan on sneaking some denim ruffle pants like these into her wardrobe if she'll let me! (She's been on a pants boycott lately...only dresses/skirts will do, LOL!)

Amber~ I've only seen that ric rac at a local quilt shop but I LOVE it! I first used it on Grace's pillowcase Easter dress I made a couple of years ago and I've been hooked ever since!
