Noonie & Papa J were going to be out of town for Halloween so on Friday after Grace's school party, Noonie came over to give the littles a few treats. We quickly threw on Hudson's costume so she could see him wear it.

Halloween Class Party

Yesterday was the little pumpkin's Halloween Learning Carnival at preschool and she was so excited that FINALLY the time had come to break out the pink cowgirl costume! I was surprised when I asked her what cowgirls said and she came up with 3 phrases right away - I had no idea she really knew anything about cowgirls. I just thought she liked the costume because it was pink and she got to wear boots :) Parents were invitecd to come and participate in all the activities and I was super excited that it worked out so that both Lance and I could attend (thanks Noonie for keeping Hudson!) The kids were divided into teams and Emma, dressed up as a sweet yellow butterfly, and Grace were paired together to go through the 10 centers.

The necklace station was a big hit with the girls. They made cute
CanDy CoRN NecKlaCEs and put them on right away :) Face painting was fun! I had no idea I'd be doing the painting but I didn't do too bad with the requests :)
Emma wanted a flower and a valentine rainbow. Grace went for a flower and leggos (?) he, he, he Fishing for Pumpkins Both girls loved the halloween pencils they got as prizes. So cute that they "won" prizes at each center!

Pumpkin Cookie Decorating - I was glad all my cookies made it there okay so that the kids could have fun frosting and decorating them! Sweet girls! Grace's masterpiece Spider Web Walk - so creative!

Yay! Grace, Emma, and Lovi were too busy chit chatting about Lovi's Cat Fairy costume to flash me a smile, but I got some sweet ones from their friends.

no ordinary pumpkins

One of our favorite fall traditions is going to see all the pumpkins and this year was no exception!

Ready to go check things out!And yes, for all of you that have asked me, here's proof that the littles DO wear things more than one time! HA!
{Actually I was so upset that Hudson's jack o' lantern jon jon that I ordered online Oct. 5th didn't come in until Oct. 23rd so we had to wear it a couple of times back to back since we only had 1 week before halloween!}

Grace declared this one Hudson's favorite. Hmmm...I wonder why? ;) LOVE these!! Getting a kick out of Miss Spider! This year we went later in the evening since I had a board meeting and didn't get home until later than usual. Thank goodness Noonie went with us so I could keep up with the little pumpkin in the HUGE crowd! Fly Fishin' A lift from Daddy = Happy Boy! One of my runner-up faves! So creative! Our attempt to have Hudson sit by a pumpkin... Grace was upset that she didn't see a Cinderella pumpkin like last year...but then she spotted Rapunzel and all was well with the world once again :) Don't you just love those "cheese" smiles??? My favorite one!!! Doesn't it look just like the wolf in Red Riding Hood??? LOVE! The little pumpkin and I both loved this one - so cute! The grand finale We had the BEST time!

I'm so sad that we didn't get a family pic :( Lance came straight from work and after he found us on the trail it was dark & C-R-O-W-D-E-D. Oh well, there's always next year!

So if you haven't carved your pumpkin yet (we haven't either!), how about painting it and turning it into a masterpiece! FUN!

ghoulish treats

Today was Hudson's halloween party at MDO, which meant last night was Operation Boo Treats at our house! And it was one of those nights when I must have been stuck in slow motion because what should have taken no time at all seemed to last into the wee hours. In the end, I was pleased with the results and I think everyone liked their treats.For his two sweet teachers and MDO director I framed THIS adorable little print by Creative Kismet in black frames, tied a sweet little bow, and added THIS cute tag by Living Locurto and...........voila!I also put these adorable cookies in little treat bags so that they would have a little someone sweet to munch on...afterall, it is HalLoWeEn! I wish I could say I made these cute little cookies but royal icing and I are still not friends even after all these years so I had a local bakery make these and I love how they turned out! Happy BOO Day, Mrs. Cheryl, Mrs. Brooke, & Mrs. Rebekah! The kids in Hudson's class are a lot younger than they were when Grace was in the same One Year Old MDO class so most candies were out of the question. I ended up going with some simple (and super yummy!) friendly ghost sugar cookies as party favors. Since the cookies were individually wrapped, I put a dab of hot glue on the back of the wrapper to affix the cookie to the cardstock, placed in a ziploc, added the topper, and DONE!

This is what my table looked like at 1am this morning! These sweet & simple favors were budget friendly too at just $1 per cookie for decorated 4" cookies. I already had the orange cardstock, toppers, and baggies on hand so for just $12 we were able to share a sweet little treat with the 12 littles in Hudson's class!

Tomorrow is Grace's Halloween Learning Carnival at preschool and we were in charge of bringing party favors. They're getting plenty of sweets at the party so I tried to think of a few non-candy bits & pieces to put in their bags and ended up with a pumpkin plastic tumbler, halloween pencils, orange/black/green/white mini play dough tubs, Wendy's frosty coupons, owl/cat/pumpkin lollies, and a popcorn ball!

I enlisted the help of the little pumpkin and this was the final result...so sweet! When I came across THIS free printable by Beth Proudfoot, I knew the kids would get a kick out of RoTteN PumPKin TeEth so I printed a few sheets of the labels and added some candy corns to 2x3" mini jewelry bags ($1 for 100 at Walmart)and ended up with this:Love these! Off to make pumpkin shaped cookies for Grace and her school buddies to decorate as one of their stations tomorrow...Oh, and CaNDy CoRN pudding minis just because they are so darn cute!!!

Hmmm...have a feeling this will be another late night!
