under the sea & mardi gras!

This was one busy weekend for us! First up, Emma's birthday party, an "Under the Sea" adventure. Emma is one of Grace's preschool classmates and they share the same birthday - March 10 - except Emma is one year older.

It's so funny to me to see how these littles react when they see each other outside of school, it's like they haven't seen each other in ages!

Grace and Isabella...two sweet girls!
Time to make your own jellyfish. Can you tell how much the little pumpkin loved this?? :) The ice cream experiment - my favorite! Somethin' about that liquid nitrogen...no matter how many times we've seen this, it's always fascinating. Happy 5th Birthday, Emma!
We've been talking for a while about taking the littles to a Mardi Gras parade but to be quite honest, the thought of trying to keep Hudson entertained for hours on end waiting for a parade to start amidst the crazy crowds just kept us from it.

Until today that is! Mimi and Aunt Tammie were in a smaller, family-friendly parade this afternoon so we decided to brave it and take the littles to their first Mardi Gras parade. Lance and I took turns carrying the littles piggy back so they could see the floats and boy, were we hurting when it was all over!
Throw me somethin' mister! Hudson wasn't too sure what to make of it. He liked the shiny beads but the moment one hit him on the head, he was done! Poor little fella! I didn't get too many pictures because Hudson was super sneaky and the moment I was trying to reach for something in the stroller, he grabbed a FULL fountain drink and spilled it all over both of us AND my camera, so I went into full rescue mode and luckily the camera appears to be okay. No more pictures after that little episode. The camera was quickly put away for good.

Here's my last one, a test shot, to make sure the camera was still working...Grace showing off her favorite beads!
And you know what? After all that we were on the WRONG side of the street from where Mimi was on the float and we didn't even get to see her - boo to that! :(

Oh, and weirdest throw? Packets of Ramen Noodles! Huh?
Laissez les bon temps rouler!
