fun on the fourth

We had a full weekend, jam packed with family, friends, laughter, food...

Sunday we celebrated at Mimi & Pop's house. This little pumpkin LOVES pop-its!
Hudson...not so much. He didn't want to be anywhere near them and preferred to watch his big sis popping them from a distance.Lance forgot to tell me Mimi had called and said "bring swimsuits". Oh well, we couldn't let that small detail get in the way. I mean, look at them! They were having so much fun! Grace told me over & over again, "I love it here! This is the best day ever!"Reason #93745 to love childhood: Sprinklers. Monday we stayed home and decided early in the morning to turn our backyard into the littles' water/sprinkler paradise. Of course we had to break out the red, white & blue swimsuits! They looked so cute! There was lots of slippin'......and slidin' going on. And.......what would be the 4th without some cool treats??Yes, in our household, the 4th means patriotic POPsicles!!! Even Jaxon got his own tasty treat. Don't let that last picture fool ya...this little guy ate his weight in popsicles, errh, "pocketfulls"...he he he Even the liquid chalk turned body paint was color coordinated this weekend ;)After all that water fun and a tasty lunch, it was time for Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundaes! Better yet, Brownie Ice Cream Sundaes!!!Whaaat? Popsicles AND ice cream on the same day??? You betcha! Someone just couldn't wait another second... This little guy LOVES sweets!Noonie & Papa J came over to join us and left with full bellies and big smiles. Not sure why, but this little pumpkin likes to eat the ice cream cone - waffle bowl here - first THEN her ice cream. So silly...Cookie Monster has nothing on this little guy! I even got some sticky sweet snuggles during the ice cream fest...After our little ice cream party it was time for the talent show...
(Oh my, I soooo remember putting on talent shows with my cousins many moons ago!!)
Papa J and the little pumpkin...what a pair! And then...................the crash after the sugar rush...HA! Hope you had a great 4th!

  1. The 4th of July make-your-own brownie ice-cream sundae party was the best! We think it should become an annual tradition... followed by the talent show, of course! That family time together was a very special highlight in our day's celebration. Thanks for inviting us.
    Love, Noonie & Papa J

  5. I always enjoy your posts! Looks like you had tons of fun. Here's a random question, that I've wondered for a while, but now that my oldest girl has enough hair for bows, I thought I'd ask: Are Grace's hair bows on clips or do you tie them? If they're on clips, did you make them or buy them (if so where?), if they're tied, can you show me how? I can NOT get bows to look that cute and poufy.

  6. Hi, Melanna~

Her hair bows are on clips, the "spring clip" kind (for more hair), not the pinch or alligator clip (for less hair).

I buy them locally but you can find great deals on etsy and also on this site:

    Hope that helps!!
