it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

...at Sewing Club anyway! This past Friday we had our last sewing club of the year and what a great year this has been!! Once a month, I pack up my bags, load up my machine, kiss my hubs & the littles goodnight and make the drive to my sweet friend Ashleigh's house for a night of uninterrupted girl time...under the guise of sewing, of course. Ashleigh has just been the best hostess all year - thank you, Ashleigh! We had our very own thanksgiving dinner this time around, complete with a scrumptious ham, dressing, mashed potato casserole, berry cobbler a la mode, and this delicious and adorable pumpkin dessert Lara made - LOVE!!Hello, Sewing Club Cookbook! HA! I'm not even kidding, there have been some FAB recipes out of this club. Taking me out, that is - no, really - I'm the one that brought the Icees you see in the next pictures as my contribution to the October club and another time I bought - not made - a pie...Shhhh. At least I redeemed myself with the mashed potato casserole this time!

We exchanged a few little gifts since we won't meet again until January. I couldn't resist bringing these jolly fellas...
...and I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the super cute laminated bag and cupcake pin I received. Thank you Ashleigh & Lara!!

These past two sewing clubs we've been busy making Doodle Girls and Griffin Gators
{patterns by Bit of Whimsy Dolls} to take to the children at one of our local hospitals. So excited to see their sweet faces when they see them!!Sometimes our best efforts go a little awry and we may or may not have ended up with a certain "one of a kind" gator...
he he he
We've made lots of fun things...Learned all kinds of new techniques...Oooh'd and Aaah'd over each other's creations......but the best part of our monthly sewing/crafting night has by far been the friendships formed and the laughs shared. These are some sweet, sweet girls...Ashleigh, Emme, Lara, Sara, Jamie and several others that have come from time to time...I have SO enjoyed spending time with you all! You guys are the best and I have been blessed by your friendship - love you all!
