preschool valentine party {2012}

I really love celebrating big and small occasions, especially when little ones are involved. There's just something so sweet about little wiggly bodies so excited to sing, play games, open presents, and gush all about whatever holiday is at hand.First up, heart crowns!Then it was time to make a puppy out of heart shapes.Pandemonium!Lacing hearts! This time they could lace it anyway they wanted - no rules. The little pumpkin loves to hear
"no rules!" - HA! These couple of pictures crack me up...she's so into it.She may or may not have picked up a bad habit from watching me hand embroider...just sayin'.Mimi surprised Grace by coming to the party!
The little pumpkin was so happy to see Mimi!Oh my, definitely NOT our best picture, and not just because it's out of focus!! I look like I'm drugged out and my eyes are still puffy from the dreaded pink eye - hahaha - but proof that we were there, even if neither of us was feeling too well
(Sp-r-ing...ya hear me? That's me calling. We're so over this winter cold and all the other sickness! Hurry up and get here!!).For weeks now, the little pumpkin has been telling us about this "surprise" she has for us, "but I can't tell you much about it...okay, it's a song...actually three songs...valentine songs...a funny one, too...you're going to laugh...but I can't tell you about the surprise...you'll just have to wait and see."
Oh, how I love her!
Giddy with excitement...
{and look how tiny Isabella is! she is too cute and sooo sweet!!}
I....................................................................................LOVE............................................................................YOU!..............................................................................More cuteness...Blowing valentine kisses...And the grand finale...a cute little number about eating all the valentine candy!Time to check their mailboxes for valentines from their friends...And last but not least: SNACKS! Love those heart-shaped pretzels!! YUM! Thank you Lovi and family - they were delish! And thank you to all the other parents that helped too!While others ate......Grace decided to play with her food make art ;)It's cupid's arrow, mama...straight through the heart!
Indeed!

  2. I love reading your blog and seeing all of the cute projects you make! I do have to say though as a teacher and mother I do hope that you have the permission of the parent's of all of Grace's friends to put their pictures on your blog. It can be a serious safety concern. In my classroom last year I had students who were in foster care and due to that their pictures were never allowed to be put on the internet or published anywhere.

    I am sure this is something you have already thought of but just wanted to make you aware if you weren't already :)

  3. Hi, Kristin M~
    This is a great question/point you bring up! At the beginning of the year, all of us parents sign a photo consent form as part of our class packet. I don't include any children in group photos here on my blog who don't have that release.

    All parents are also aware of the blog and many who are not able to attend field trips, class parties, etc. due to work schedules often let me know how much they appreciate getting a little glimpse at what the children are up to via the photos.

    Because of my professional capacity for the past 10 years (child abuse field), I am acutely aware of the stipulations surrounding children in foster care. None of these children are in foster care.

    As an added precaution, I do not include any last names of children, school name, or location. That's just based on my own personal preferences, not a policy.

    Safety should always come first!
    Thanks for reading my blog,
    Jessica

I'm so glad you've found some inspiration...that's what blogging is all about for me, sharing, becoming inspired by fun ideas I read from others, and recording moments for my littles to look back on one day.
