she's five!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {vintage kitten birthday party}

Yesterday was the little pumpkin's long awaited 5th birthday. She's been counting down forever. Thirty-three of her little buddies came to celebrate with her. It was a really fun party for all the littles and I think a low-stress one for the grown-ups.......love that!I still can't believe the little pumpkin is five!!! Oh my, I'm having a serious case of "Where did my baby go?" She's such a little lady these days. She's full of spunk. She's sweet, smart and sassy {in a good way!}. She loves art and reading, lalaloopsy minis, ballet, computer games, and most recently kittens. She's very sensitive and kind...always one to reach out when she feels someone needs a friend. And.........she loves to be in charge 100% of the time {I have no idea who she gets that from *snicker*}. Oh, and this was her own pose. I think I'm in trouble.This party was really fun for me too. I usually stay up waaaaaay too late too many days in a row getting everything ready for my littles' birthday parties. Not this time. I think I did a little better managing my time with this party, which helped, but the Monday before the party I took a look at my mile-long To Do list, shred it, and decided to focus on just 1 or 2 things that I really wanted to accomplish. A relaxed mama who's had plenty of sleep sure does make a difference!!

And here it is...a sweet vintage kitten birthday party for the little pumpkin!
We gave Grace our gifts just before the party. Boy, was she excited! I lucked out when I found this sweet vintage card in perfect condition - she thought it was "soooo cutie pie, mama!"Noonie and Papa J stopped by to see the birthday girl and give her their gift too - the new Lalaloopsy house!!Our little family...A little twirling and then it was off to GyMnaSTicS for the
par-tay!!
The sweets table...simple & sweet, with a little vintage vibe.This ribbon garland was my project at Sewing Club the night before the party {I was so happy to be at sewing club rather than up all night doing last minute birthday stuff, especially after missing the last two months with sick littles}. The gym was so dark it was hard to capture the true colors of the ribbons, but I LOVE all the different textures and shades. The board was actually a cork board I found at Hobby Lobby and covered with some inexpensive muslin for added texture.The cake was simple. We served cupcakes to make it easier since I didn't think we would have enough time to cut and serve a big cake. Although it's a bit hard to tell, the design for the cake was inspired by this sweet vintage embroidery pattern {and I just realized what was missing...the kitty's whiskers!!!}. Oh my, the cupcakes!!! I can't say enough about the cupcakes. My dear friend Bridgette made them and they were sCruMPtiOUs!!She really went above and beyond...80 wedding cake flavored cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and fondant buttons...YUM!!! {I may or may not have eaten TWO for breakfast on Sunday since I didn't get to eat any at the party....shhh}Marshmallow pops are always a hit with the pint-sized crowd...Strawberry cream lollies, pink lemonade and cotton candy old fashioned candy sticks completed the sweets.I framed the sweet birthday card and ended up just displaying the 3 little kittens embroidery I made instead of sewing it to the runner {just in case I decide to turn it into an apron for the little pumpkin...he he}Noonie made the sweet oversized table runner......and I made the fun party hat {see more here}.We had three long tables for the kids and on the center one I was able to use the vintage tablecloth I found on etsy...it was so sweet - love it!Since we had both boys and girls I tweaked the party favors a bit for each one. For the girls I went with
"these are 5 of Grace's favorite things"...
We had a Lalaloopsy coloring book and some kitten pencils, "kitty kat" bars, goldfish, squinkies, and custom flower head wraps Noonie and I made.For the boys I added Spiderman pinball machines (Spiderman socks for the itty bitties), bouncy balls, parachute army men......and this fun {and messy - sorry parents!} putty.And for my favorite little guest, baby Christian...a set of Crayola board books!After jumping, flipping, running, bouncing, balancing, swinging, and hiding......it was time for pizza and icees, cupcakes and ice cream!Birthday Girl!Cake time!
{did you notice what I added?? he he...couldn't help myself!}
Happy Birthday to you...Make a wish!Grace sure has some really sweet and generous family members and friends {I'm so sad that with all the activity, we didn't get more family pictures with the grands and aunts - boo}. Thank you everyone for all the fun presents, but most importantly, for sharing this special day with us. LOVE the sweet, handmade cards!!And that wraps up the little pumpkin's
Vintage Kitten Birthday Party!
We sure had a blast celebrating our sweet girl and the five glorious years God has blessed us with her.Happy 5th Birthday, Grace!May God bless you today and always.
XOXO

  7. Thanks ladies!!

    Kris~ I mostly buy them from etsy. You can narrow down your search by searching for "unused birthday card" under the Vintage tab. :)

    Carrie~ Yes! I will soon start selling the wraps in my etsy shop:
