I love this idea and we are doing a similar version on Dec. 1st with our girls. We don't do elf on the shelf as I am terrified of dolls that "watch" what you're doing. I have loved reading about your NPB's over the last few years.
I'm in Australia, and the Elf on the Shelf hasn't taken off here yet - though saying that thanks to a friend in Seattle, our Elf will be joining us this year for the first time, and your blogs have been great inspiration on how to introduce our Elf to the family. I had not even thought of letting our little boy name the Elf!
